In Corfu, the Mediterranean climate delivers hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The live forecast above shows current conditions; the best months for a UK traveller are May through October, when warmth and sunshine are most reliable.

When is the best time to visit Corfu?

May, June, September and early October offer the sweet spot: pleasantly warm days, lower humidity and fewer crowds than July and August. School holidays push peak prices and temperatures in July–August, making the shoulder seasons better value for families. July and August are still fine for beachgoers who don’t mind heat and higher accommodation costs.

What should I pack for Corfu?

Light cotton clothing, swimwear, sunhat and high-factor sunscreen are essential from May to October. A light jacket or cardigan helps for cooler evenings, especially in May and October. For spring and autumn trips, a compact waterproof jacket is useful for the occasional shower. Sturdy sandals or walking shoes suit the island’s hills and cobbled streets.

Does it rain much in October?

October sees about 100mm of rain spread over 8–10 days, but many days remain warm (22–25°C) and sunny. It’s a good month for sightseeing and hiking before winter.

Can you swim in the sea in January?

Sea temperatures drop to around 15°C in January – too chilly for most swimmers. Winter in Corfu is mild but wet, and coastal breezes can feel cold.
